Leslie Nieves, LAC
Leslie is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey. She received her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Leslie has worked with clients in managing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, stress, and self-care. She has experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence, as well as working with clients in crisis management who have experienced suicidality. Leslie is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Leslie strives to provide her clients with a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can process and reach their fullest potential. Leslie uses a person-centered and strength based approach to use practices based on the clients needs. Leslie uses evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as well as utilizes trauma informed care and mindfulness practices. Leslie believes it is important to treat the whole person and is passionate about working with clients and building trust and rapport as a foundation for successful treatment.
Leslie currently resides in South Jersey with her husband and her cat. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, shopping, and traveling.
