    Group Counseling

    What is Group Counseling?

In Group Counseling, individuals seeking help for a specific issue meet together with a licensed therapist to process difficulties and learn skills. Groups at Mind, Body, & Soul usually include 5 to 10 group members and a licensed counselor or licensed social worker. Group Counseling is scheduled for 1-hour or 90-minute sessions, and are scheduled either weekly or biweekly.

What are the Benefits of Group Counseling?

Group Counseling is a great addition to Individual Counseling. In Group Counseling, individuals are able to learn new skills efficiently and connect with other people for support on a shared topic, as well as process emotions and experiences. Unlike Support Groups, Group Counseling has the benefit of a licensed professional to provide guidance and structure to groups. Group Counseling can help promote social skills and promote connection. In the Groups offered at Mind, Body & Soul Therapy and Counseling, Groups are structured to provide helpful education on specific skills in a short period of time.
