Kelly Sullivan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience, bringing both deep clinical expertise and a passion for helping individuals thrive in all areas of life—including mental health, personal growth, and athletic performance. She holds a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University and a Clinical Sports Social Work Certification from the University of Michigan. Kelly specializes in working with adolescents through older adults (ages 15–60+), supporting clients facing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and performance-related concerns.

Kelly’s style is encouraging, supportive, direct, and empathetic. Her approach is client-centered and highly adaptable—she meets each person where they are and tailors treatment based on their unique needs and goals. Clients working with Kelly can expect to feel heard, validated, challenged, and safe… and to probably share a few laughs along the way.

A strong believer in the power of relationship and personalized care, Kelly describes herself as a “Swiss Army knife” of therapy, using a variety of evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and other techniques suited to each client’s journey. Sessions may incorporate mindfulness, movement (such as walk-and-talks), journaling, fidgets, or art-based interventions to enhance engagement and expression.

Kelly’s clinical work also integrates her background in athletics and coaching. She has extensive experience helping clients work through mental performance barriers, process identity as athletes, and manage anxieties surrounding sports, school, and life transitions. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally competent—committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where every client can show up as their authentic self.

Her path to therapy was inspired by her own family’s experiences with mental health, and by a deep desire to better understand and support others. For Kelly, the most meaningful part of this work is celebrating her clients' wins—no matter how big or small—and honoring the courage it takes to show up for healing and growth.

Outside the therapy room, Kelly stays active by coaching CrossFit, competing in Olympic weightlifting, paddle boarding, playing softball, and trying new activities. She recharges by spending time with loved ones and embracing moments of stillness.

A quote that guides her work is: “You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
