Carly Koenig is a Licensed Associate Counselor and a Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Levels 1 & 2. She believes that therapy is a collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity, compassion, and honesty. She works with children, adults, and couples experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, major life transitions, attachment concerns, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and spiritual or religious concerns.

Carly earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, following a Bachelor of Science in Studio & Digital Arts. Her therapeutic approach draws from Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and creative interventions. She takes a holistic and personalized approach to therapy, recognizing that each person's needs, values, relationships, culture, spirituality, and life experiences shape the way they understand themselves and move through the world.

Carly believes that meaningful therapy begins with meeting clients where they are. She works collaboratively with each person to better understand their story, identify patterns that may be impacting their present experiences, and explore new ways of responding to old wounds. Her goal is not to provide a one-size-fits-all approach, but to help clients discover the practices, perspectives, and rhythms that feel most supportive and authentic to them.

Mindfulness and creative expression are important parts of Carly's work. She incorporates art-based practices and body awareness to help clients connect with their mind, body, and spirit, particularly when an experience or emotion feels difficult to put into words. Carly believes that healing can involve both gaining insight into our experiences and learning to approach ourselves with greater compassion.

Carly is also passionate about supporting clients as they explore spirituality and religion as part of their mental health journey. When appropriate and meaningful to the client, she incorporates spiritually integrated practices while honoring each person's individual beliefs, values, and experiences. She approaches these conversations with humility, curiosity, and respect.

What Carly finds most meaningful about being a therapist is witnessing the moment when a client begins to recognize their own patterns and realizes they have the ability to approach old wounds in new ways. She believes that these moments of awareness can create space for hope, peace, connection, and lasting change. Her hope is to help clients feel more at home within themselves while developing the awareness and confidence to move through the world in ways that feel more aligned with who they are.

Outside of the therapy room, Carly enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, drinking espresso, rock climbing, traveling, and being near the ocean. She also enjoys gardening, salsa dancing, listening to music, and prioritizing movement and rest as part of her own wellness.
