Jamie Rae Capri is a Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She has experience supporting children, teens, and adults through a wide range of emotional and relational challenges, including anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma, substance use, and family and school-related stressors.
Jamie Rae is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s ups and downs through a compassionate, strengths-based lens. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care to support clients in building emotional regulation, healthy communication, and self-awareness. Her style is warm, encouraging, and collaborative—offering a supportive presence with the ability to be direct and goal-oriented when needed.
Clients working with Jamie Rae can expect an adaptable and engaging environment where each session is shaped by their needs, interests, and goals. She believes in meeting people where they are and tailoring the therapeutic process to reflect each client’s unique strengths and values. Jamie Rae often incorporates mindfulness, art, and somatic practices into sessions, and works closely with clients to explore what approaches feel most helpful and healing.
She works with individuals ages 9 and up, including LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodiverse individuals, and those navigating complex family dynamics, sensory processing needs, school stress, or issues related to identity, relationships, or emotional health. Jamie Rae is LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally competent, and trauma-informed, and she brings a deep respect for each client’s lived experience into her work.
Jamie Rae was drawn to the field out of compassion and a strong desire to support both her immediate and greater community. For her, being part of a client’s journey—no matter the pace or form of growth—is a true privilege.
Outside of therapy, Jamie Rae enjoys being in the sunshine, gardening, creating art, and spending time with her loved ones. Her self-care often includes yoga, swimming, and slowing down in nature whenever she can.
